He makes his Florida debut in a show coinciding with African American History month. His signature medium is a layer of roofing tar on wood into which he scratches an outline of figures, animals or flowers and then paints over with vivid colors. After having sell out shows in Chicago, New York and Atlanta, Banks brings a collection of new work speaking to his struggle and ultimate recovery from growing up in the Alabama projects and combatting a family history of addiction. Join us for the opening reception on Saturday, January 26 from 6 - 9pm.Image Art to the Right: Scope of Life

Hi Michael!

Just wanted to let you know how much my husband and I are looking forward to seeing you at Magic City Art Connection in Birmingham this year. We are fortunate to own 3 of your pieces and just absolutely love all of your work.

Hope you are well.

Best,
Alex Johnson and Robby Melvin
